HARD WATER REMOVAL · OSPREY, FL

Those water spots aren't dirt. They're etched into your paint.

If sprinkler water has been drying on your car in the Florida sun, no amount of washing will take those spots off. We can — in most cases (starting at $185).

Why washing doesn't fix it

Lawn and irrigation water is loaded with dissolved minerals.

When it lands on your car and dries in the sun, the water evaporates and the minerals stay behind — welded to the surface.

Left there through a few hot afternoons, they start to eat into the clear coat.

Once that happens, you've got a physical divot in the paint, not a stain sitting on top of it.

You can run the car through a tunnel every day for a month and the spots will still be there, because there's nothing left to wash off.

The damage is in the clear coat.

That's the point most people call us.

And it's fixable — but not with soap.

Regular car wash memberships keep everyday dirt and grime off, but hard water removal is a separate, hands-on service for mineral damage that's already set into the paint.

“If a wash won’t touch it, the minerals have already etched in. That’s not a cleaning problem anymore — it’s a paint problem.”

What we actually do

This isn't a spray-on product. It's hands-on work, and it takes time.

Step 1 — Thorough wash

We start by getting every bit of loose dirt and grit off the car. Skipping this step means dragging debris across the paint later, so we don't skip it.

Step 2 — Clay bar the paint

A clay bar pulls the bonded mineral deposits up out of the paint surface — the ones that washing physically cannot lift. This is the part that does most of the work, and it's done by hand, panel by panel.

Step 3 — Machine polish where it's needed

Where the etching has gone deeper, we go over the area with a machine polish to level the clear coat and bring the finish back. We only do this where it's actually necessary, being careful to polish just enough to restore the finish without over-working your paint.

Step 4 — We tell you the truth

Some cars come back to like-new. Some that have been sitting under a sprinkler for two years come back much better but not perfect. We'll tell you which one you've got before we start, not after.

Here's what most customers can expect: light surface etching typically buffs out to a smooth, glossy finish in a single visit, while spots that have been baking in the sun for a year or more sometimes need a second pass to fully disappear.

Hard water spotting happens because irrigation and tap water carry dissolved minerals — mostly calcium and magnesium carbonate — that get left behind on your paint once the water evaporates.

You can read more about how these mineral deposits form on Wikipedia's hard water entry.

The longer they sit on the clear coat, the deeper they etch, which is why we recommend bringing your car in as soon as you notice spotting rather than waiting it out.

Hard Water Removal Pricing

Starting at $185, final price depends on the car's size and how far the etching has gone.

A few spots on a sedan is a very different job from a full SUV that's been parked beside a sprinkler head all summer.

That's why we look at the car first and give you a real number before any hard water removal work starts. No surprises at pickup.
